Kid's Classes
Kid's classes are $25/class ($150 per pay cycle) with ongoing enrollment highly encouraged! Some supply fees are additional and are guided by the student's interests (drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media and recycled art currently offered - clay coming soon!). |
Art Class FAQ's
What are "student driven" art lessons? Simply put, my students are in the creative driver's seat. I love to brainstorm with them, encourage them, and facilitate their creative vision. In doing this I am also able to interweave new techniques, media, vocabulary, art history and culture! I super enjoy teaching my students to look at things in new ways, for example using broken ceramics to create a mosaic they designed or recycled paper for collages of their favorite animal. My goal is to honor their ideas, increase their tolerance for trying new things, and build their confidence as artists and people!
What is the studio space like? My cozy, light-filled classroom and studio is attached to the quaint cottage I share with my husband a rescue pup, Banksy. Our home, nicknamed "The Birdhouse", is in my parent's backyard in Stratham, which is nothing short of magical. The garden, ducks, chickens, grape vines, and forest are a constant source of joy and inspiration. I love sharing this delightful space with my students!
What are the class sizes? Class rosters are capped between 5-8 students, depending on the age range and needs of the group.

About the Art Teacher
Hey! I'm Amy. I have an M. Ed. in K-12 Art Education and was a public school art teacher for six years. My passions include travelling, animals, salvaging furniture and making art of course! My specialty is oil painting but I also enjoy ceramics, watercolor, printmaking, mosaic, and ink sketching. I LOVE sharing my enthusiasm for culture and expression with young people and watching their love of art blossom.
