Hey! I'm Amy.
Thrifting enthusiast, world traveler, and certified art teacher. Four years ago, I left a traditional teaching job and started Home Remedy Studio - a true antidote to the constraints of school life. It has allowed me to offer all kinds of creative opportunities to the broader community - art clubs, summer camps, enrichment activities for seniors, and Paint Everywhere! Watercolor Workshops at breweries and other fun locales.
I cannot think of anything I’d rather be doing than helping other people feel emboldened to try something new, or discover a love for art that was lost along the way. My workshops and classes are not designed to be a one-time burst of creativity under the careful eye of an instructor - I want them to be the spark from which a fire is lit to create a sustainable and sustaining art practice.
Home Remedy Studio is, quietly, a rebellion against 21st century life. Everything is designed to grab our attention, we are asked to move faster and faster through our lives. I am actively campaigning for people to slow down, to notice, to take time to do something for the enjoyment of it. Pretty radical, I think.
Insterested in current offerings, my latest works, or even renovation progress on our new (very old!) house? Follow me on Instagram, @homeremedystudio or send me an email. I’d love to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Amy
