Hey! I'm Amy.
One day, while studying Painting at UNH, the discussion in class was “how we broke the news to our parents that we wanted to go to art school.” I was confused! But then again, I had a decidedly unconventional childhood. My family is FULL of artists - watercolorists, jewelers, quilters, textile designers. Why would your family NOT want you to go to art school, I thought?! We had traveled all over the world thanks to my mom’s job as a flight attendant - a creative, spontaneous life felt… normal!
I knew I wanted to share my passion for creativity and culture with other people. Flash forward and for six years, I taught art in public schools. I met so many amazing people and taught so many wonderful kids… but something was missing - freedom. I left my teaching job and started Home Remedy Studio - it was a true “remedy” to the constraints of school life.
Over the last two years, HRS offerings have expanded to include weekly lessons for kids, vacation and summer art camps, art kits, as well as watercolor workshops for adults called ‘Paint Everywhere!’ 'cause I really want people to do just that.
Do you have a child who LOVES art? Want to make more time for your own artistic interests? Contact me at [email protected] to chat about current offerings. It’s never too late to start prioritizing that creative streak:)
Sincerely,
Amy
P.S. Check out my shop! Maybe your home needs a little "remedy" in the form of sweet, colorful art!
